MONUMENTS NEAR THE HUMEDO

When you go to the humedo to eat tapas, you can find some important monuments.

The most important monument it's the cathedral. The León Cathedral, dedicated to Santa María de la Regla, was declared of Cultural Interest in 1844. It is known as the Pulchra Leonina and it is a masterpiece of the Gothic style dominating the mid-13th century, by master architect Enrique. By the late 16th century it was virtually completed.

One of the most attractive features is the main front, with two towers (the south one known as the 'clock tower'). The interior represents a beautiful combination of architecture, painting, sculpture and other arts.

It has three portals decorated with sculptures situated in the pointed arches between the two towers. The central section has a large rose window. Particularly outstanding is the image of the Virgin Blanca and the Locus Appellatione, where justice was imparted.

Its almost 1,800 square meters of stained glass windows dating from the thirteenth to the fifteenth century are among the world's finest stained glass.

  1. Great entry, and beautiful picture of the cathedral. It's gigantic! It must be great to live in a place where you can both eat tapas and do other modern activities, and view historic monuments and cultural artifacts.

This entry sounds very good! The only mistake I saw was substituting "it's" for "is" in the second paragraph.

  2. This was very well written. The only error was mentioned in the comment above. Though technically correct, saying "where justice was imparted" is a bit awkward. Do you mean to say that this is where a court of justice was convened? Other than this, I really can't tell that the article wasn't written by a native English speaker. Good job!

  3. What an interesting cathedral!

Because your English is so awesome already, I wanted to give some suggestions about how you can improve your sentences.

I would rephrase the first sentence, "When you go to the humedo to eat tapas, you can find some important monuments." I might say, "If you visit the humedo to eat tapas, you will also have the opportunity to visit many important monuments in the area."

In the phrase "was declared of Cultural Interest in 1844," I would say "was declared to be of cultural interest in 1844."

By the way, I noticed that you took some of your phrases from wikipedia ;) That's fine, but it's better to reword them and also to state wikipedia as a source. Also you may be able to improve your English faster if you try writing sentences from scratch.
